You look rather moved. Did you also expect such a warm welcome from the fans?
They were great. I really didn’t expect this. Many people came today and I am very grateful for that.

I had many other offers, but I told my agent Real Madrid was the only place for me as soon as I learned about their interest. This was my dream.

Yes. You can’t get a better chance than the one I’ve been given. I know I must be humble and work extremely hard. This is the best club and it has the best players and the best coach too, so being here is truly amazing. This is the best environment in which to make progress and learn more.
You are only 23 years old, but you’ve already placed for Murcia, Levante, Valladolid and Getafe. Is it your main objective to continue to grow as a player?
Yes. I’ve reached the top by signing for the best club. I’m not the only one who says Real Madrid is the best. I must now work very hard and continue to improve while I defend this shirt with character, competitivity, pride and, above all else, humility.

Real Madrid:
One always dreams about playing for the best club in the world and I am lucky to do so.
Why Real Madrid:
I want to learn from the best players and from the best coach. There is no better place in which to do so than Real Madrid. I didn’t think twice about joining the Club when my agents presented me with the possibility of doing so. My dream has luckily come true.
Playing under Mourinho:
Jose Mourinho has proved his worth in recent years and I feel proud to have a coach that supported my signing. I hope I can repay him for the great faith he’s had in me in me some day.
Goals:
I want to achieve as much as possible at this club. I will do what I can to help and I will fight for this crest with great excitement.
Profile: Pedro León
Pedro Leon (Murcia, 24-11-1986) is a midfielder who usually plays down the right wing. Only 23 years of age, he has already played for Murcia, Levante, Valladolid and Getafe, and he has also been an international six times for Spain’s Under-21 side.
Pedro Leon is a solid winger with excellent touch on ball with both his feet. He is a fast player capable of playing down both wings and is also very skilled at taking set pieces.
The new Real Madrid signing began his career in Mula, Murcia, as a member of the Muleño academy and later playing for Nueva Vanguardia Alcantarilla before signing for Real Murcia. He made his Second Division debut with the latter in 2005. Leon played 71 games and scored 10 goals during his three seasons at the club. He signed for Levante in the summer of 2007 and stayed with on for one season, during which he played 27 games and scored 3 goals.
On 1 September 2008, Pedro Leon signed for Real Valladolid. He played 36 games with the club during the 2008/09 campaign and scored six goals. Getafe signed the player in the summer of 2009 and he subsequently had his best season in the First Division, taking part in 42 matches and netting 9 strikes.
Coach Iñaki Saez called him up to join the Under-21 national team on 31 January 2007 and he debuted in a friendly against England. He has been capped 6 times and has scored one goal for Spain.

It was just a formality. Earlier today Real Madrid announced on their official website that:
Real Madrid C. F. has reached a deal with Getafe C. F. for the transfer of Pedro Leon, who will play for Real Madrid over the next six seasons. The midfielder will have his physical on Friday morning and will be officially unveiled at 12:30 CET at the Presidential Balcony of the Santiago Bernabeu.
Pedro Leon, was then subjected to a medical examination at Sanitas undergoing the usual blood and urine tests, electrocardiography, a magnetic resonance, a radiological and biomechanic examination, a clinical exploration of the musculoskeletal system and a cardiorespiratory examination that every player who signs with any club undergoes. Carlos Diez, Head of the Sanitas-Real Madrid Medical Services when asked about the player said:
Pedro Leon is an athlete and he is perfectly balanced from a biomechanical and muscular perspective. He is fit to join the rest of the team. The player is in great shape. It is obvious he took part in four training sessions with his previous team. We spoke to Getafe’s Medical Staff and they sent us all their information on the player. We’ve only done tests we believed we needed to make in order to have a more detailed study. All the results were positive.
He then, bysigning a contract that will keep him at the Club for the next six seasons, officially became Real Madrid’s latest addition. President Florentino Perez, Director General Jorge Valdano and the Club’s Board of Directors were present during the signing and all congratulated and wished the player good luck.
