Angel di Maria arrived in Madrid on Wednesday morning in order to undergo the required medical checkup prior to being presented as Real’s latest acquisition. The midfielder arrived from Buenos Aires, where he spent the first few days of his vacation after participating in the World Cup.
He was given a clean bill of health by Chief of Real Madrid’s medical services, Carlos Diez yesterday, who said that the player is in perfect shape and readily available for Jose Mourinho. The physical included blood and urine samples, an EKG, and Echo, and MRI, x-rays, a biomechanics exam and a clinical exploration of Di Maria’s locomotor and cardiorespiratory systems.
Real Madrid have postponed the presentation of the player, which was originally scheduled for Friday, July 9. It will now take place once the player has returned from vacation and joined the squad.
