Raul Gonzalez Blanco might just leave Real Madrid
Just as AS claimed a move to Schalke was imminent, Schalke boss Felix Magath confirmed today that the club is in talks with Raul. El Capitan with one year remaining on his contract at Real is said to be on the for a move away from the club this summer due to a lack of playing time. Several English clubs were after him during last season but Magath has now said he is hopeful of completing a deal and it appears as though the forward wants to delay any decision on his future for several weeks. Magath told Bild:
We are interested in him and are negotiating with his agent. The player has not decided yet and wants time, until the end of July, to make up his mind. It would be a huge signing for Schalke and the whole Bundesliga.
Christoph Metzelder, who left Real Madrid for Schalke on a free transfer this summer, is said to have encouraged Raul to make the move. Magath said:
We have Christoph’s friendship with Raul to thank for the chance of us signing such a player.
In other news, Cristiano Ronaldo now has a reason to smile, despite a disappointing World Cup after recently becoming a father. The Portuguese star announced on Sunday that he had exclusive custody of the baby boy, born in June to an anonymous American.
Para Siempre Blanco!
Hala Madrid!!
