Manuel Pellegrini insisted the team has its eyes focused solely on Sunday’s match against Racing Santander during today’s press conference.

For me, the most important match is always the next one. We are focused on this match and have not even thought about Barcelona. The players have thought about nothing other than the Racing match. I always say that the most important match of the season is the next one of the schedule because when you think you don’t have to play so hard is when you don’t earn the kind of results you want.

Current form:

We have kept this streak alive because we always consider the next match more difficult. It is important that we score a lot of goals, but breaking the 107-goal record is definitely not something we talk about in the locker room. We always seek the opponent’s goal from the minute the ball is kicked off. The way we start against Racing will be very important and we need to maintain that same rhythm for ninety minutes.

Suspensions:

We have to earn a victory with the players we have available. I have complete faith in the players when they aren’t available, whether it’s due to bookings or injuries, because there are others than can fill in.
