Van der Vaart press conference

Rafael van der Vaart says he is in optimum form. The midfielder played against Espanyol and even served an assist, proving his injury is no longer something to worry about.

Title hopes:

It is possible to come back from a 5-point deficit. Barcelona will not fail much, but we still have to play against them here. It will be hard to catch up to them, but they still have to face strong teams like Atletico, whom I will support on Sunday. That is a very important match.

Fitness:

Injuries happen. I’m in optimum form now. I’ve done a lot of gym work.

Birthday gift:

Playing against Xerez and scoring would be a nice early birthday present. My entire family will go to the game because they live close by.

In your face Barça!

Barça, Barça, Barça… How weird does that sound?

Today’s post is dedicated to FC Barcelona and all the defenders it has in the infirmary.NOT. Who gives a crap about them anyways?

Today’s post is totally dedicated solely FC Barcelona and the monotonous football that it plays. NOT. I don’t give a crap about it either.

OK. Before you get ready to beat me up let me get started. Today’s post is just like anyother day. We start with a joke. We go on to serious affairs where I’d just loot a few lines from here and there and decorate it using a few quotes etc before finally I tell you who has and who has not been training.

Before you ask me I assure you that this post is totally not about Giovanni Trapattoni and the vacant Nigeria post.

First part of the post will be a game of True or False.

Statement 1. Cristiano Ronaldo rejected a move to Barcelona in order to join Real Madrid.

False. Barça can’t afford him. That is why they went for Ibracunt – the poor man’s Ronaldo.

Statement 2. Real would have been pipped to the post for Ronaldo’s signature had the player not had such a strong desire to move to the Bernabeu.

False. He wouldn’t have gone anywhere.

Statement 3. Both the club and player accepted a clause which would have ensured a €30 million fine had either of them pulled out of the deal.

False again. This rumor had been denied several million times by every party involved.
