Atletico Madrid 2-3 Real Madrid
Real Madrid once again proved they aspire to win every title at stake this season. The Whites played brilliantly during 80 minutes at the Calderon despite Atletico’s push in the final ten minutes. Kaka and Marcelo scored in the first half, while Higuain followed suit after half-time. Forlan and Aguero put the locals back in the game close to the end with one strike each, but the Madridistas eventually snatched the victory.

Real Madrid pressurised from the start. The central midfielders constantly supported the full backs, who in turn helped out as much as they could in attack.
Four minutes into the game, Lass lost the ball only to recover it again and pass it to Kaka, who scored from a phenomenal shot right outside the box. Pepe tried to score a second strike with a long shot (19’), Ramos tried from the edge of the box (21’) and Marcelo eventually netted the team’s second strike on the 24-minute mark.
The goal was the result of excellent touch on ball and precision; Ramos and Benzema combined passes inside the box before finally giving the ball to the Brazilian, who scored with his right foot despite hardly having an angle from the goal-line. Benzema came close to netting a third (33’) and Forlan hit Casillas’ post (30’). Simao had the last chance of the first half.
Aguero came on in the second half and Atletico tried to make a comeback, but within fifteen minutes Real Madrid managed to score again through Higuain (64’). The Argentine dribbled past Perea and defeated Asenjo in a one-on-one.
Ramos saw a red card one minute later for tackling Aguero outside the area and Forlan used this to cut distances short (79’). One minute later, Aguero thrilled the crowd by scoring a second strike for his team, but it was too late for the locals to make a full comeback and Real Madrid won again at the Calderon; the Whites haven’t lost there in eleven years.

It was a brilliant game. Nerve-rattling. I really hope we make things a lot easier for us from next time though.
Yes. And that too starting with the Alcorcon game…
I’ll blame Marcelo for the Forlan goal. He wasn’t marking anyone. I guess he really is not a left back as he claims he is. We need to go out and get one. Thats our weakest position. Marcelo is brilliant in attack but pathetic in defense. He cant even be called a wing back.
And Drenthe? Well let me just not pull that string…
I agree with Trevor. We really need a left back. Someone like Evra. Clichy or Ashley Cole.
Why search elsewhere when we there are so many in Spain?
No one else is as good as those three.
I would love to disagree on this with you but unfortunately…
True. We have our own Marcos Alonso. We can give him a try. He is supposed to be the next big thing. I hope we don’t lose him like we lost Mata and Iniesta.
I too want Manu Pellegrini to try Marcos Alonso. Too much hype is being given for him. I really wanna know if he deserves it.
Hahahahaha!
You never missed Iniesta. The whores scared him off.
That shows how much of a kid Casper really is.
We missed Ivan Marcano. He went off Villareal from Racing. We still have Luis Filipe. He scored at the weekend for Deportivo. Barca wanted him badly during the summer. Instead they settled for Maxwell.
It’d be great if we get Insua or David Santon. They’re young and talented.
We will have to do with Arbeloa until then I guess.
Luis Filipe is Barca’s. You better not get near him.
You’d rather play with Marcelo/Drenthe than Insua. He too is very bad. Rafa is playing Aurelio every other game in front of him so as to avert any risk that he’d cause.
I agree with Nick here. Insua was awful in the few Liverpool games that I’ve seen this season. Santon is the new Maldini. He wouldn’t leave Inter at least as long as Mourinho is there.
What about Juan Manuel Vargas?
What about him?
We are still being linked with Vargas at least according to Goal.com. But Fiorentina themselves are looking some Boca Juniors kid who probably isn’t going there. So I doubt if Vargas would come.
I hope we get him. Isn’t he from Chile as well?
Yes he is.
Haha!
That doesn’t mean Manuel Pellegrini gets a discount on him.
He is from Chile. He too is a wing back. We need someone who can defend. We have enough flair in attack.
Then whom do we get?
Thats the million dollar question.
What about Roberto Carlos?
As irritating and imbecile as Risk Factor is he really tends to be funny at times. Hahaha! Sylar it just isn’t your day is it?
