Javier Saviola transferred to SL Benfica

No big surprise. The only question was where. Javier Saviola has finally left Real Madrid to have a better career at Benfica. He is the second player named Javier in as many seasons to move to Benfica from Real (Javier Balboa moved last season).

The official statement:

Real Madrid CF has reached an agreement with Sport Lisboa e Benfica for the transfer of Javier Saviola. The Club wants to thank the player for his work and wishes him to be successful in this new stage in his career.
