Bring him back!

All you Madridistas out there who aren’t keeping track of this dude Negredo, the 23-year-old took his tally for the season to 19 Liga goals, lifting him to joint ninth in the ESM Golden Shoe standings. After scoring 13 goals last season, his first at Almeria since joining from REAL MADRID, he went into Sunday’s meeting with CA Osasuna with 17 goals, including nine in as many outings where he continued the fine form with two more strikes, including the late winner in a 2-1 victory. And that is 3 more than our top scorer Higuain (who btw is also our leading assists man) who has 16 in the league this season.

We have the usual clause in this contract to bring him back here and I hope we do that soon as I, like Hugo Sanchez, think that he will be wanted by many other big clubs next season. Almería coach Hugo Sánchez, a fair judge of attacking prowess having scored a remarkable 234 goals in 347 appearances in Spain with Real Madrid, Club Atlético de Madrid and Rayo Vallecano, sees it differently.

I’m afraid we won’t be able to enjoy Negredo’s presence for too much longer here as there will be many teams trying to sign him once the season ends. I’d advise the fans of Almería to enjoy him while they can.

BRING HIM BACK!!

Para Siempre Blanco!

Hala Madrid!!

Lass to Marca

Real Madrid have yet to lose since the arrival of Lassana Diarra. In an interview with sports newspaper Marca, the midfielder discusses the team’s current form and what it’s going to take to end the season on a high note.

Real Madrid hasn’t lost since your arrival.

True. Things are going great, but I hope the streak continues until the end.

You are suspended for the match against Getafe. Are you worried that the team might note your absence and that the streak will end?

No. No way (laughs). There are great players here and I’m just a one of the pieces here. I am not indispensable nor the savior. We will win no matter what. This team is full of great players and I am confident they will defeat Getafe.

You must be upset that you can’t play.

Of course. I always want to play and help the team, but it’s okay. Madrid has enough talent to overcome any injuries or suspensions.

Did you imagine such a good run when you first arrived in December?

I always think positively, but what is happening here is incredible. Joining such an important club, playing and winning is a dream come true. I hope to end the season with a league title.

Is this the most decisive week left?

The lead total might change because Barcelona have two difficult matches against Sevilla and Valencia, followed by the Champions League, but the league will be decided in the Clasico. All signs are pointing to it. I hope we can cut into their lead, but that match will decide the title. It will be a spectacular match.

Are you not worried about the match against Sevilla?

I am. Sevilla is a great team. We need to show just how eager we are to win the league. I am convinced we can win in the Pizjuan. We can win all our remaining matches but it won’t be easy.

Have you every experienced such a good run?

It has been quite amazing. Winning so many matches in a league like this one isn’t easy, but I did experience a similar run with Chelsea. We didn’t lose at home for more than two years.

Did you know that Real Madrid broke a record by winning seven straight road matches?

I was told after the match. We want to continue winning in order to win La Liga. I know we can do it. We will not slow down until the end of the season.

Do you feel a lot of pressure when you play after Barcelona have already finished?

We focus on our matches. We are aware of how they do, but we are obligated to win all our matches.

What can you say about the job the team’s defense is doing?

We understand each other very well, but the key is in training. The team is working very hard. If we are steady in defense, I am sure we will continue winning.

Who do you feel most comfortable playing next to, Gago or Guti?

They are all good. Sneijder and Guti are more offensive, but I always have Gago close by. I feel comfortable with everyone. I try to do the same job as always no matter who is by my side.

To what degree is Juande Ramos responsible for the great run?

A lot. Juande is very disciplined and thanks to him Real Madrid is in the hunt for La Liga. These wins are thanks to the work he has done. He has been an important coach to me.

Should he stay on next season?

That isn’t up to the players. The new president will decide. All I can say is that he is doing an amazing job.

Marcelo is also in great form. What a goal against Recreativo!

Indeed. He’s having a great year and his recent goals have really helped the team. We are all doing very well and the team deserves a lot of credit.

Your next match is against Sevilla. Have you heard anything about the atmosphere at the Pizjuan?

No, but I know they have great fans. It will be a nice match.

Real Madrid Castilla 0-1 Cartagena

Castilla were unable to defeat Cartagena despite their hard work. Alberto Bueno was the best Madridista, but un unfortunate mistake of the defender allowed Carmona to score the visitor’s goal.
