Real Madrid vs Real Valladolid | Spanish Primera Liga | Round 30 | Preview

There is no margin for error for Real Madrid after Barcelona’s victory on Saturday. Their next final of the nine remaining kicks off today at 17:00 CET against Valladolid at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid’s impressive run of 13 victories and one draw dates back to December and is one of the best streaks in all of Europe. With a win against Valladolid on Sunday, the team will be one step away from a new record over 16 games. With that in mind, and with a league title still very much in play, nothing short of victory is needed against the Pucelanos.

While Juande Ramos has reacquired the services of Robben and Heinze, Sergio Ramos is unavailable due to suspension and Marcelo, Codina and Parejo due to injury. Huntelaar has scored in the last three matches at the Santiago Bernabeu and is good to go. So is Raul, who has made Valladolid his second favorite victim in terms of goals scored after Espanyol.

Valladolid are ninth in the table with 39 points, only four away from a spot that would grant them European access next season. Unfortunately, history isn’t on their side at the Bernabeu, where they have lost 32 of 38 matches and given up 14 goals in their last two visits alone. Also hampering their chances are the notable absences of Sesma and Garcia Calvo.

Robben and Heinze return

All is set for Sunday’s match against Valladolid. Arjen Robben and Gabriel Heinze found their way back onto the squad list, while Marcelo, Parejo and Codina didn’t make it due to injury. Sergio Ramos must also sit this one out due to yellow card accumulation.

Goalkeepers: Casillas, Dudek
Defenders: Cannavaro, Heinze, Metzelder, Pepe, Salgado, Torres
Midfielders: Drenthe, Gago, Guti, Lass, Robben, Sneijder, Van der Vaart
Forwards: Higuain, Huntelaar, Raul
