Cannavaro to AS

Fabio Cannavaro granted an interview to Spanish newspaper AS to discuss the possible keys to victory against Liverpool.

I only leave the dressing room to win. Winning this match will depend on the small stuff. The greater the opponent, the smaller the details are that allow you to win. We must recognize that it will be a long match.

We must be very patient at Anfield because we may score early or we may score late. By scoring we will force Liverpool to play. If they want to win they will have to play, and that is when we can capitalize.

The key is that we don’t have to play up the middle. We need to open the field up, search for the one-on-ones along the wings and take advantage of defensive mistakes.

Liverpool aren’t better than us.

Lass to Realmadrid.com

With three years of Premier League experience under his belt, Lassana Diarra is the Madridista who should be most familiar with Liverpool and what the Whites can expect come Tuesday at Anfield. Lass is confident Real Madrid can win tomorrow’s match and move on to the quarterfinal round of the Champions League.

We need to remain cool and collected because we won’t go anywhere if we worry about all the surroundings. The fans are loud and do everything they can to help their team, so we have to block it all out and focus on playing.

I think Gerrard is Liverpool’s best player. He’s got it all. Very few players have comparable strength, power and skills. He is always by his team’s side.

I don’t need to mention players like Torres, who everyone here is already familiar with. Xabi Alonso and Carragher are also important players, but we cannot be thinking about them and must do everything we can to win the match.

I am convinced we are going to win. Everything is possible in football, and even though it won’t be an easy match we will do whatever it takes to move on. The beginning will be crucial because they will pour on the pressure, but we can do a lot of damage if we are able to play our game.

I am interested in both La Liga and the Champions League, but because Real Madrid is considered the best team in Europe, winning the Champions League sounds very exciting. I’ve only been here for two months, but I know I want to go on vacation with a title in my hands.

Fuerteventura 2-3 Real Madrid Castilla

Real Madrid Castilla appeared to be headed to another defeat on Sunday after conceding two goals, but the Whites managed to recompose themselves and with a strong second half performance led by Szalai turned the score in their favor. The Hungarian striker scored a brace as Castilla ended their skid and returned to their winning ways.
